Azi Acosta transforms into a strong, independent woman willing to do anything and more to get what she desires. A Vivamax Original Movie, written by Ricky Lee and directed by McArthur C. Alejandre, "Call Me Alma" is streaming on Vivamax since September 1, 2023.
In the year 1999, the world was filled with anxiety about the impending new millennium and fears of the Y2K apocalypse. But in the midst of chaos and uncertainty, a young woman from Manila relentlessly pursued her dreams.
Meet Alma (Azi Acosta), a prostitute at a high-end club. With no parents to support her, Alma learned to fend for herself by working at the club. She had encountered many satisfied men, but she had three regular customers, each with their own nickname: Tiger Joe, Kabayo, and Puppy Dog. Tiger Joe was Mr. Lopez (Mon Confiado), a wealthy lawyer with sadistic tendencies who enjoyed role-playing with Alma. Kabayo was Mr. JC (Josef Elizalde), a bank executive known for his well-endowed nature, while Puppy Dog was Miguel (Gold Aceron), a student who fell in love with Alma and had an intimate relationship with her without paying.
Alma lived comfortably and contentedly, thanks to the money she earned from various men. However, her life is disrupted when Sheila (Jaclyn Jose) arrives, claiming to be Alma's true mother.
Sheila attempts to explain herself and reconcile with Alma, but she refuses to listen. She didn't need a mother back then, and she certainly doesn't need one now.
Will Alma be able to forgive and accept Sheila? Why did Sheila return, and can she help Alma find her true self?
Will Alma change her profession and leave behind her life as a prostitute? Or will she remain tied to the club and in the clutches of Tiger Joe, Kabayo, and Puppy Dog?
This film, directed by McArthur C. Alejandre and written by the highly acclaimed Filipino screenwriter and National Artist Ricky Lee, stars Vivamax celebrities Azi Acosta, Josef Elizalde, Gold Aceron, Aiko Garcia, and Richard Solano.
